In our nation's infancy, Kentucky settlers found it fit to establish an institute of higher learning, and Transylvania University was created in 1780. With the support of our forefathers, the school grew in status and served to educate a wealth of statesmen and public officials. Today, the school still maintains a strong reputation as a liberal arts institute and also enjoys a lovely campus punctuated with large trees, wide lawns, and picturesque buildings.
